be an effective champion for our families, communities,
and people with disabilities.

- As a grass roots candidate not taking money from special interest PACs, I
need YOUR support to raise enough money to run against my opponent who
has raised over one-half of his campaign funds from special interests since he
has been in office. Please click here to find out how to support my campaign.

- As a grass roots candidate not taking money from special interest PACs, I
You, My special Interest
I have learned the hard way that changing District 14 to a more family friendly
community requires legislative action responsive to the needs of all
its citizens. I have a vision for what our District can be and the experience and
talent to create the changes to make it happen.
But first, I need YOU to support my candidacy-at the polls, as a contributor of
your time or money, as voices for change. Special interests, like Wal PAC
have bought influence from most political candidates including my opponent.
I will serve no special interest other than those of the people I represent YOU
are my special interest, so let me know what YOU want now and after
YOU vote me into office.
Wake County and North Carolina are among the best places to live in the country, but there are challenges facing many of our citizens that require energetic, visionary leadership and new ways of making things happen. I am committed to representing everyone, no matter what race, ethnicity, gender, religion, or ccupation.Virtually every candidate across the state makes a similar statement. I bring a difference.--- a history of accomplishment, a passion for helping people with disabilities, and a very special interest: YOU. If YOU want change, join with me. As your State Senator, I will:
1. Listen to you and value what you have to say: Special interest
political committees (PACS) have bought the influence of most
politicians in North Carolina. My campaign does not accept PAC
money which leaves me free from influence to serve my grassroots
constituents.
2. Bring leadership to the Senate to fix the broken service system
for people with disabilities: Over $400 Million of YOUR tax
money intended to help disabled people has been wasted because
of lack of leadership and oversight by the Legislature. This won’t
happen under my watch. I will use YOUR tax dollars wisely and
provide oversight to protect against waste and abuse
3. Take action to bring the American Dream to everyone in the
District and State: Using our existing tax dollars, I will work toward providing affordable
insurance and health care for everyone and quality care and
services for people with disabilities. I will also support our law
enforcement agencies as they make our communities safer by
fighting gangs and drugs. I will support competitive wages and
benefits necessary to recruit and retain the best and the brightest
people to keep our schools and state and local governmental
agencies operating efficiently. Finally, I will work to improve the
infrastructure of the District and State to secure our future and that
of our children and grandchildren.
